Inviting all TechIsland Members to Support the KidIT Initiative!

What is KidIT?

KidIT is a new format of technology education for families with children between the ages of 5-12, whose main goal is:

  • To transform children from passive users of technology into active creators through the creation of their own products (games, movies etc);

  • To lay the basis of the necessary skills for a successful future of the child: 4C-skills (communication, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking) and the basic principles of digital citizenship;

  • To offer the child and his / her parents the first understanding of the “Global Citizen” concept, demonstrating the limitlessness of the world and the opportunity to present their own products at major world conferences, receiving awards and recognition.

Plan of Action:

KidIT is planning to launch free technology educational groups for children aged 5-12 in 4 key cities in Cyprus - namely in Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia and Larnaca, with the aim of reaching 500 families. Each group will consist of 10 children and there will be 14 groups overall for each city. The final pitches of the childrens’ projects will feature during the Cyprus IT Forum in a separate childrens’ area and with a real jury from key IT companies of the industry.

The revenue stream for the project will derive from Partner Companies of this project. Partner Companies of the project will receive quotas for places for kids of their employees.

If you are interested in sponsoring this project, please contact Tanya Romanyukha, Head of Operations at Techisland at tanya@thetechisland.org
